Rapper Dr. Dre — real name Andre Young — had a bizarre experience outside of his Malibu, Calif. home on Tuesday after a man tried to arrest him (as a citizen’s arrest).
The man reportedly parked his car in front of Young’s house, and Young asked him to move. While the man complied, he reportedly swore and continued to yell at Young while the rapper pulled into his driveway.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says the man told them Young ordered him to leave and showed a gun.
Young told sheriff’s deputies that he didn’t have a gun, and that the man was blocking his driveway. He says the man moved his car but parked nearby, and he drove off after Young recorded video of him.
Once Young started recording, the man allegedly said, “Here we go again, another black guy with a gun.”

Young was briefly handcuffed while deputies investigated. As he asserted, no weapon was found at the scene.

Deputies say the man attempted to initiate a citizen’s arrest for a misdemeanour: brandishing a firearm. He insisted on making the citizen’s arrest and filling out the police report with his allegations. The Malibu district attorney will ultimately decide if charges will be laid in the case.
Young and Young’s reps have not returned requests for comment.
