Certain elements discovered at the scene indicate foul-play, Montreal police spokesperson, Jean-Pierre Brabant told Global News.

“A suitcase was put on fire in the hallway,”  Brabant said.

According to Brabant, the fire was extinguished very quickly and there was very little damage to the building.

There were no reports of injury, as no one was in the building at the time.

Officers met with witnesses last night and investigators were back at the scene Sunday morning.
