Application deadline for low income Halifax Transit passes extended indefinitely

Halifax Transit has extended the application deadline for low income bus passes indefinitely, after two previous deadlines have come and gone, leaving several passes still up for grabs.

The city says 140 of the original 500 passes, which are half the price of a standard pass, are still available.

As of July 15, the first proposed deadline, 340 applications had been received. The city decided then to extend the deadline to July 22.

Eligible residents must have a total household yearly income of less than $33,000 and are not receiving any other assistance for bus services.
