Edmonton housing market experiences dip

A Royal LePage survey shows the price of houses in Edmonton slipped during the second quarter of 2016.

The survey indicates Edmonton’s housing market declined 1.2 per cent to an overall average of $377,337.

The survey breaks down the price of homes into categories, which shows two of the three major categories have declined in value.

Detached bungalows dropped four per cent in price to an average of $356,443, and two storey homes slipped 0.4 per cent to $435,922.

Condos increased 2.2 per cent in price to an average of $243,383.

Royal LePage predicts the average price of a home in Edmonton will decrease one per cent by the end of the year compared to the end of 2015.
