Notorious rapist not moving to Kelowna following prison release

KELOWNA – Contrary to some media reports, a high-risk sex offender is not moving to Kelowna.

Andrew Aurie Jefferson is about to be released from prison on parole after being convicted in 2013 of an attempted stabbing and vehicle theft in Langley.

Parole Board of Canada spokesperson, Patrick Story, says privacy laws prevent the public disclosure of where Jefferson will live.

But Story confirms it is not Kelowna.

Known as the Falconridge Rapist, Jefferson was imprisoned for sexual assaults in Calgary in 2006 and 2007.

In court documents, The Correctional Services of Canada said Jefferson still struggles with emotions during stressful time periods and is a risk for future violence to an intimate partner.
