They were reported missing on Wednesday when they did not arrive at their destination on the eastern arm of the lake.

Police say the boat, which had run out of fuel, was found near an island along with its passengers.

Military aircraft, police and civilian crews all took part in the search.

Great Slave Lake is the ninth-largest lake in the world and the deepest in North America.
