Firefighters put out a fire in an exhaust handling system Wednesday in Saskatoon’s Marquis Industrial area.

Members of the Saskatoon Fire Department were called out at around 9 a.m. CT to New Holland at 1000 71st Street East.

Firefighters located the blaze in the exhaust handling unit and had it under control in less than 18 minutes.

Officials said it started when sparks from a welding table came into contact with the paper filters inside the unit.

A damage estimate was not available.

No injuries were reported.
