Crews battle brush fire burning near Bayer’s Lake Industrial Park

Fire crews from Halifax as well as the Department of Natural Resources, are fighting a fire burning in the wooded area near Bayer’s Lake Industrial Park.

A helicopter is on scene to help fight the fire which is burning near Raines Mill Road, near the community of Lakeside.

Smoke from the fire can be seen from several areas of the Halifax Regional Municipality.

There is no word on how the fire started or how big it is.

Halifax Fire tweeted just before 6 p.m. that they’ve established a command centre and that crews are working in the woods.

They added that there is no immediate threat to any property in the area.
