A seven-year-old New Brunswick girl is asking the public to be on the lookout for her stolen paddle boat. The boat was stolen from a family cottage on Lake George in mid-May.
Over the past year, Kylie Dignam has lost her grandpa, her cat and her rabbit, and she says she’s sad that her paddle boat is lost.
“A lot of things gone missing.. And my paddle boat gone missing now,” Dignam said.
Her mother, Dawn Dignam, says her daughter can’t understand why someone would take something that wasn’t theirs.
“What kind of melts me a little bit is she says, ‘they can use it. They can bring it back and they can use it. They just have to ask,'” Dawn Dignam said.
Kylie Dignam tells Global News she’s offering a hand-drawn, crayon-coloured photo of a beach umbrella to the person who returns her boat, as well as possibly a box of cookies.
She and her mother posted a video to Facebook several weeks ago asking whoever took the boat to return it.
“If you ever see it, can you please bring it back,” Kylie Dignam said.
The video has over 4,000 views online.
Dawn Dignam says her daughter has been making posters with drawings of the paddleboat for weeks, and the family would like to see it returned.
“I drawed some and then I put them at my school. Then I gave some to my mom and she put some at her work and I’m drawing some more to put at her work and my school,” Kylie Dignam said.
The family says no questions would be asked if the boat was brought back, but the family is looking for a good deal on another one.
Kylie Dignam says she will keep making posters until the boat is returned.
