A 70-year-old man is dead after a hit-and-run Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Saint-Urbain Street, between Saint-Antoine Street and Viger Avenue.
“According to witnesses, a vehicle was heading south on Saint-Urbain when it struck the pedestrian,” said Abdullah Emran, a spokesperson with Montreal police.
“The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and has not been arrested yet.”
Police say the suspect was driving a white truck and was heading south on Saint Laurent towards the Old Port.
The suspect was seen wearing a navy blue sweater, spoke French with an accent, and had dark skin.
