Halifax Regional Police are asking for help from the public as they continue to investigate two homicides.

Tyler Richards and Naricho Clayton were shot and killed in Halifax within two days of each other in April, and police are hoping to speak with any eye witnesses or people with information about both shootings.

“Both homicide investigations are progressing very well. Investigators are getting lots of information coming in from the public, which is fantastic,” HRP spokesperson Lauren Leal said Wednesday.

Richards was found dead in a home in the 6900 block of Cook Avenue on April 17.

Investigators later found evidence related to the homicide in a wooded area at the end of Mountain Avenue in Dartmouth, and want to speak with anyone who may know about the evidence, or who may have seen suspicious activity in the area between April 17 and April 19.

Clayton was found in a vehicle, fatally shot on Gottingen Street late on the night of April 19.

Police believe the suspect was in an older model dark-coloured Chrysler that was parked near Falkland Street.

They reportedly fled the crime scene in the direction of Creighton and Maynard streets.

Investigators hope to speak with anyone who has information about the vehicle.

Officers are also looking for anyone who was in the area in the moments before the shooting happened.

They said a man in the area of the Salvation Army, at 2044 Gottingen St., is believed to have possibly passed the suspect on Portland Place.

A red and white Mini Cooper was also seen driving on Falkland Street shortly before the shooting.

Police believe it was parked on Gottingen Street at the time the crime took place, but left before police arrived on scene.
