RCMP in Red Deer, Alta. are searching for a teenage boy following a fire on Sunday that damaged two mobile homes.
The fire in the Mustang Acres Mobile Home Park started at around 9:30 p.m. Investigators believe it started when poplar fuzz was lit on fire and started to spread.
Area residents used garden hoses in an attempt to douse the flames, but the fire wasn’t extinguished until fire crews arrived.
Two mobile homes suffered significant damage in the fire; one to its front panels and detached garage, and the other to the rear of the residence. In addition, two bushes were burned.
No injuries were reported.
Officers believe a teenage boy may have lit the fire. He is described as 14- or 15-years-old, about 5’4″ to 5’6″ tall with a thin build, wearing a black toque, grey hoodie, baggy blue jeans and black skater shoes. He had black hair that covered his eyebrows and winged out under his toque.
According to RCMP, the teen was seen leaving on foot northbound through the west entrance to Mustang Acres, and is believed to reside in Mustang Acres or the surrounding neighbourhood.
