Winnipeg Blue Bombers continue to shuttle players in and out

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced five more transactions on Sunday morning as training camp entered week number two.

The Bombers signed three players and cut two others. The club re-signed defensive lineman Emmanuel Dieke who was cut the day before training camp started. The team has also brought in international receiver Fred Williams and international defensive end Andrew Robinson.

Williams, 28, spent the past two seasons in the NFL on the Kansas City Chief’s practice roster. He also played two seasons in the Arena Football League with the San Jose SaberCats.

Robinson, 23, was the defensive player of the year in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with Wisconsin-Platteville. He totaled 43 tackles and 7.5 sacks in his senior year.

Dieke, 25, was released by the Bombers after he suffered an injury at rookie camp. He’s also spent time with the NFL’s New York Giants and Miami Dolphins.

The Bombers also announced they’ve released linebacker Duron Singleton and defensive back Vernon Kearney.

The team plays their first pre-season game at home to the Montreal Alouettes on Wednesday.
