Man charged after stolen Warman car spotted in Saskatoon

A man is expected to appear in provincial court Thursday after a Saskatoon police officer stopped a vehicle reported stolen from Warman.

The officer, a member of the canine unit, spotted the car being driven erratically in the area of Avenue J and 12th Street West around 9:30 p.m. CT Wednesday.

The officer followed the car to a parking lot at 11th Street West and Avenue P where the 25-year-old Saskatoon man was taken into custody.

A search of the man turned up a folding knife and police seized a backpack which they say contained methamphetamine, break and enter tools and a 12 gauge shotgun shell.

He is now facing charges of possession of stolen property, possession of break and enter tools, possession of methamphetamine and several firearm related charges.
