Calgary police have laid approximately 90 charges following a month-long drug trafficking investigation that uncovered, among other things, the theft of several ATMs.

During the course of the investigation officers found evidence suggesting the suspects, who were originally under investigation for possible drug offences, were linked to multiple break and enters in which ATMs were stolen.

Police said they learned the suspects were planning to steal another ATM, and found them breaking into a stand-alone ATM vestibule located in the 0-100 block of Hunterhorn Drive N.E. on May 1.

“The suspects were later taken into custody in the 3000 block of Dover Ridge Drive S.E.,” police said in a news release.

During the investigation, police said a total of 12 stolen vehicles and 10 stolen licence plates were recovered. Police also seized two rifles and one shotgun, as well as small amounts of cash, heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine.
