SASKATOON – Police are investigating two attempted robberies at Saskatoon ATM machines over the weekend. In both cases, a woman was approached by a man who demanded money.
The first attempt happened Saturday around 9 p.m. CT at an ATM located in the 2400-block of 22nd Street West. The woman told police a man armed with a screwdriver demanded cash.
She refused to give him money and a struggle then took place before the man fled.
The man is described as being in his 40s, 150 pounds and five-foot five or six. He was wearing light coloured demin pants and a navy hoodie.

The second attempted robbery happened around 11:20 a.m. CT Sunday at an ATM located in the 400-block of Circle Drive East.
A woman told police she was approached by a man who claimed to have a gun. He demanded money and a struggle followed when she refused to hand over any cash.
The man then fled on foot and was chased by a second man who had arrived at the ATM, however he failed to catch the suspect.
He is described as being around 40 with a medium build and short reddish-brown hair. He was wearing jeans and a green hoodie.
Neither woman was physically injured.
Although both robbery attempts were unsuccessful, police recommend that anyone who is approached should comply with any demands made to have a better chance of minimizing danger.
Police also say that any physical confrontation should be avoided if at all possible.
