SASKATOON – A spike belt helped put an end to a police chase Sunday evening in Saskatoon. The chase started when a patrol officer attempted to make a vehicle stop in the area of 32nd Street West and Avenue E North just after 9:30 p.m. CT.
The driver refused to stop and led police on a short chase. It ended when a spike belt deflated the front tires of the vehicle.

Two people then fled on foot.

A police dog was called in and successfully tracked down the two suspects.
A man and a woman are facing a number of charges including evading police, failing to stop for police, driving while prohibited, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and breach of court orders.
They are scheduled to appear Monday in Saskatoon provincial court.
