RIVIERE-DU-LOUP, Que. – Quebec packaging technology company Premier Tech is acquiring Montgomery, Ala.,-based vonGAL Corp. for an undisclosed sum.
The American company manufactures and markets palletizing solutions for a number of industries.
The Quebec company said Wednesday it will integrate the expertise of vonGAL’s 80-member workforce with the existing 500 people at its industrial equipment group.

“This second manufacturing facility in the U.S. adds to the existing four plants IEG has in North America,” the company said in a release.

Company president and chief operating officer Jean Belanger said the acquisition was in line with Premier Tech’s five-year strategic plan aimed at increasing market penetration in its various segments and territories, while also increasing capability in terms of project scope and support for its customer base.
Overall, Premier Tech employs some 2,700 people in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
