The cost of learning how to play a musical instrument is about to get a lot cheaper if you’re a member of the Toronto Public Library.

A rental program has recently been launched at the Parkdale branch which allows members to borrow instruments ranging from acoustic guitars to a select number of percussions, strings and keyboards.

The branch is also seeking gently-used musical instrument donations to help bolster the program.

Members must have a valid library card and be over the age of 18 or have parental permission before you can rent any item.

A musical instrument lending agreement must be signed and only one instrument can be borrowed at a time for a period of three weeks.

Members have the options of two renewals, which means anyone can keep the instrument for up to nine weeks.
