CALGARY – Charges are pending against a driver accused of ramming a vehicle into a Calgary police cruiser on Thursday morning.
The incident began at around 2:30 a.m. when officers attempted to pull over a vehicle travelling downtown without its headlights on.

The driver didn’t stop, and instead sped away from police.
A HAWCS helicopter was called in to help officers track the vehicle, which was travelling at a high rate of speed.
Eventually, the vehicle was tracked to Bow Trail S.W., where it rammed a police cruiser before speeding off.
No officers were injured in the crash.
Police were later able to make an arrest in the community of Dover.
