CALGARY – A man in his 40s was killed in a motorcycle crash south of Red Deer on Tuesday.
It happened on Range Road 40 and Township Road 350, just north of Bowden.
RCMP said a group of friends were travelling together on their motorcycles when two of the motorcyclists failed to negotiate a sharp turn and ended up in the ditch.
One of the drivers, a 42-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he later died.
The other driver, a 45-year-old man, was treated in hospital and released.
Investigators said neither of the motorcyclists was carrying a passenger, and no other vehicles were involved.
“All possible contributing factors related to this collision are being considered,” RCMP said in a news release.
The collision caused RCMP to divert traffic in the area while they investigated.
