WINNIPEG — Spring is officially here, but that doesn’t mean you can’t hit the ski slopes in Manitoba.
Asessippi Ski Area & Resort, located near Russell, Man., is still open for business.
Marketing director Wanda Guay said the resort has been inundated with calls and emails asking if there is snow.
“We had over five cm of new snow earlier this month which increased our snow depth to 90 cm on the majority of the runs,” Guay said.
Guay said the resort also has “stockpiles of snow to move to any spots that might be getting sparse”, if the temperature starts warming up soon.
“There’s lot of snow and the runs are in great shape,” she Guay. “We couldn’t ask for much better conditions for spring skiing.”
Asessippi will be open right through the spring break, with the annual Slush Cup being held on the final day of the season, Sunday, April 3.
Mystery Mountain Winter Park, near Thompson Man., is also still open for the season.
