Regina Pats down Saskatoon Blades 5-3

REGINA – Jake Leschyshyn and Rykr Cole had a goal and an assist apiece as the Regina Pats beat the Saskatoon Blades 5-3 for their fourth-straight win in WHL action Wednesday. Adam Brooks, Austin Wagner and Luc Smith supplied the rest of the offence for Regina (35-27-8).

Mason McCarty, Wyatt Sloboshan and Ryan Graham scored for the Blades (25-41-4).

The game was marked by a brawl after the Blades took a 1-0 lead in the second period on McCarty’s goal.

As McCarty went to skate by the bench, he was cross checked by Colby Williams, sparking the melee.

A total of 50 minutes in penalties were handed out, including game misconducts to the Blades Terrell Draude and the Pats Aaron Macklin.

The Pats scored three times in the third period to secure the victory.

The Blades close out the 2015-16 season with a home-and-home against the Prince Albert Raiders.

Fan appreciation night takes place Saturday at SaskTel Centre, with the 50/50 draw starting at $50,000 and prized given out at every whistle. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. CT.
