Lumby asks for support as Hockeyville voting begins

LUMBY–It’s voting time for Kraft Hockeyville and the community of Lumby wants the support of all British Columbians.

Lumby is one of the top 10 finalists in the contest and is a contender for a $100,000 prize to renovate the Pat Duke Memorial Arena.

It is the only B.C. community to make it as a finalist.

Lumby resident Randy Barton sent out a mass email on Sunday morning.

“The building is constantly being used year round and needs these upgrades so bad(ly), so if you could find the time to vote and help spread the word, Lumby and I would really appreciate it!” he writes.

The first round of voting to choose the two finalists ends at 9 p.m. Monday.
