WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added former NFL’er Solomon Patton to their roster.
The 25-year-old American receiver played seven games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2014 as a kick and punt returner. He hauled back 18 kickoffs for 416 yards and ten punts for 112 yards before being waived on October 21, 2014. Patton also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos but never touched the turf with those two teams.
Patton was voted team MVP in his senior season with the University of Florida. He finished his collegiate career with 52 catches for 635 yards and six touchdowns in 43 games. Patton also returned 39 kicks for 1,079 yards and a touchdown. He set a team record for the highest kick return average in a season at 29.2 yards.
