SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Police Service says despite the carnage, only one person was hurt in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday. Emergency personnel were called to the intersection of 22nd Street West and Confederation Drive just after 1:15 p.m. CT.

Investigators say the collision started when the driver of an eastbound pickup truck lost control and hit two other eastbound vehicles. The truck then jumped the centre median and collided with a westbound Access Transit bus and another westbound vehicle.

MD Ambulance paramedics took a 51-year-old woman, who was a passenger on the bus, to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the 38-year-old driver of the truck has been arrested for impaired driving.

Both directions of traffic on 22nd Street were restricted while a diesel spill was cleaned up and emergency personnel dealt with the crash.
