Proposed improvements for Highway 97 intersections

WEST KELOWNA – Here’s your opportunity to have your say on possible changes to highway intersections in West Kelowna.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is holding two open houses to get public feedback on proposed improvements at Highway 97 and Boucherie and Westlake Roads.

In a news release the ministry states: “Based on initial planning and discussions with the Westbank First Nation and City of West Kelowna, the ministry has developed conceptual plans for the two intersections and now is seeking community input on these plans.”

The intersection improvements are meant to improve safety and mobility along the highway and meet future traffic demands.

The open houses are scheduled for:

* March 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. – Super 8 West Kelowna, 1655 Westgate Road, West Kelowna.

* March 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. – Sensisyusten Multi-Purpose Facility, 1920 Quail Lane, Westbank Reserve.

Ministry staff will be on hand to answer questions.
