Several animals seized from Fredericton pet store: N.B. SPCA

Kyle Springer pleaded guilty to animal cruelty on Tuesday in provincial court in Woodstock, N.B. New Brunswick SPCA

The New Brunswick SCPA says it’s seized about 12 animals from the Pets Unlimited pet store in Fredericton citing health concerns.

In a post on the organization’s Facebook page, the SPCA says the animals have received veterinary care.

It was not gross neglect, it was just an issue that needed to be looked over,” said  chief animal protection officer Carl MacAulay. “The vet’s review of all these animals will probably determine if we pursue charges or not.”

They seized reptiles, birds and other small animals – no cats or dogs – from the store.

They say they are working with the Pets Unlimited management to rectify the issues the SPCA found in the store.

No pets are up for adoption and they are not looking for donations or foster care at this time.
