EDMONTON — A busy highway northeast of Edmonton was shut down for several hours early Tuesday morning because of a serious collision that sent three people to hospital.
Fort Saskatchewan RCMP responded at 4 a.m. to a 911 call of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 15 at the North Saskatchewan River Bridge.
EMS transported all three people involved in the crash to area hospitals.
Police have not yet released details on how the crash happened, but a RCMP K Division Collision Analyst was called the scene.
The highway was closed at the bridge for about 5 hours, and drivers were asked to use either Highway 830 or Highway 21. One lane was re-opened just after 9 a.m., and the other re-opened around 10 a.m.
Two off-duty Redwater RCMP members helped responding officers.
