There will be no increase to Saskatchewan’s education mill rate for 2016. The government made the announcement Monday morning, saying the rate will remain unchanged and stay at the same level as the previous three years.
“Saskatchewan property owners will continue to receive the benefits realized by the province meeting its commitment to reduce education property taxes and increase its share of funding for education costs,” said Government Relations Minister Jim Reiter.

The 2016 education property tax mill rates will be:
- 67 mills for all agricultural property
- 03 mills for all residential property
- 28 mills for all commercial and industrial property
- 04 mills for all resource property
The province took over setting the mill rate in 2009. Since then, officials say ratepayers have saved over one-billion dollars in education property tax.
