WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Goldeyes are bringing back infielder Casio Grider for another season.
The team will re-sign the 29-year-old American to a new deal on Wednesday morning. Grider hit .303 with seven home runs and 38 RBI in 70 games with the Goldeyes last year. He also stole 23 bases, which was tied for 11th in the American Association, despite missing roughly a month at the beginning of the season due to an injury.

“Casio is a very important piece to our club,” said Goldeyes manager Rick Forney in a press release. “I’m very happy that he chose to play again because he was a real difference maker when he was on the field for us. Casio can play many positions defensively and he can be a force at both the top and bottom of the order. I love the speed and athletic presence Casio provides our club.”
The Goldeyes have signed a total of nine players, including Grider, to contracts for the 2016 season. Winnipeg’s spring training begins May 7.
