Stolen North Battleford, Sask. truck, rifle recovered in Saskatoon

SASKATOON – A truck and rifle stolen in North Battleford, Sask. has been recovered in Saskatoon. Mounties alerted Saskatoon police that they believed the stolen property was in the city.

On Friday, members of the guns and gangs unit spotted the stolen 2014 Ford F150 outside a residence in the 200-block of Avenue F North. Police arrested a man who left the residence and approached the truck.

A search of the man turned up the keys to the truck and a magazine clip for a .22 rifle with ammunition. The rifle was found in the backyard of the residence.

The 26-year-old man is facing charges of possession of stolen property, breach of probation and several firearm offences.

He is expected to appear Monday in Saskatoon provincial court.
