KAMLOOPS – A former minor hockey coach in Penticton has been ordered to stand trial in Kamloops on sexual assault charges dating back to the late 1970s.
Retired RCMP officer Alan Davidson is charged with eight charges of indecent assault.
The alleged offenses stem from Davidson’s time as a sports coach in Penticton, Chase, Barriere and Clearwater.
Police received the first allegation in 2012 after a man reported being abused as a young athlete.
Seven other victims have since come forward.
Davidson returns to Kamloops court in February to fix a date for his trial.
Davidson was a Mountie for about 14 years in Alberta and Saskatchewan before changing careers.
