MONTREAL – Emergency crews were called to rescue a man in distress in a fishing shack on the St. Lawrence River in the community of of L’Isle Verte.
The call came in shortly after 11 p.m on Friday.

The man had been ice fishing in his shack when he somehow hit his head.
Firefighters had to use an inflatable rescue canoe to safely bring the man to shore.
According to the Sûreté du Québec, the man was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
He was taken to hospital with a minor injury to the head.
