Seven students, including two from Saskatoon, are set to make videos commemorating the 100th anniversary of Saskatchewan’s Legislative building.
The seven high school students are in Regina this week after winning a provincial competition that required them to submit written concepts describing a short video based on the building and the provincial theme of Building the Saskatchewan Dream.
“Involving young students to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Legislative building has been a great way to have them share some of what they have learned about Saskatchewan’s history, politics and governance, while celebrating what they believe our province stand for,” said Education Minister Donna Harpauer.

Three winning submissions were selected from across the province.
This includes two students from Aden Bowman in Saskatoon, Lesia Karalash and Sarah Foley.
Other winners were from Val Marie School and Kindersley Composite School.
The winners will now work with the Saskatchewan Film Pool for the next three days learning about video production.
They will then shoot, edit and producer their videos based on their submissions.
The videos will premiere on October 11, 2012.
