Man severely burned in Calgary house fire

CALGARY – A man suffered substantial burns to much of his body after a S.E. house fire Tuesday afternoon.

Calls started coming in to the Calgary Fire Department around 1:00 p.m. after several people reported a house in the 8200 block of Fairmont Drive was engulfed in flames.

EMS also responded to the call. They discovered a man in his 40s who had been inside the home. He made it out on his own before crews arrived.

The man is now in hospital in potentially life-threatening condition. There were no other reports of injuries.

The fire is under investigation.
