Toronto hockey fans can always find something to be unhappy about, and news that the Maple Leafs are planning to change their logo is the newest source of controversy.
Sports teams change logos all the time, of course. The Raptors debuted new uniforms just this year, and the Blue Jays introduced a new logo in 2011. It helps to sell merchandise and stir up a fan base, particularly when interest is lagging.
Talk of a new logo is inspiring lots of creative – and mostly sarcastic – suggestions. We collected some ideas from Twitter and added a few of our own suggestions for the 2016 look of the Leafs.
