Mother Heidi Kostick said she finds it hard to cross area roads while walking her daughters to the bus.

“We always have difficulty crossing with the crosswalks,” Kostick  said. “None of them are lit. They aren’t marked very well.”

“Earlier in the morning in winter time it’s dark and the roads are sometimes icy,” she added. “There are a ton of speeders in the area heading to the LRT and off to work.”

The incident marked the third time in less than 48 hours that police responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
