CALGARY- A man is dead after committing suicide in the emergency department at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
Police were called to the hospital at about 4:40 a.m. Thursday morning after a man shot himself.

Because the death is not considered criminal, very few details are being released. Alberta Health Services said only that an incident took place and they are working with CPS.
It’s not known whether anyone was nearby when the gun was fired. The emergency department remained open and AHS said there is no risk to the public.
