SASKATOON – A man is facing charges of trafficking fentanyl after a drug bust in Saskatoon. The bust happened Thursday at a home in the 2500-block of Melrose Avenue in the Avalon neighbourhood.

Investigators from the integrated drug enforcement street team (SIDEST) seized a fentanyl pill, a pill grinder, around $2,000 in cash, cell phone and bear spray when they executed a search warrant at the residence.

The 20-year-old man is facing possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and breach of a condition sentence order charges. His name has not been released.

He is scheduled to appear Friday in Saskatoon provincial court.

Prior to the bust, SIDEST members arrested a 23-year-old man outside the home. A search turned up two fentanyl pills and he is now facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
