Montreal students march against austerity

MONTREAL – Thousands of CEGEP and university students are taking part in a large demonstration against austerity measures Thursday.

The demonstration is started at 1 p.m. in the Old Port, at the corner of de la Commune Street and Saint-Laurent Boulevard.

About 20 associations representing more than 50,000 students have a strike mandate for the province-wide protest.
