NEW YORK – What race box does Rachel Dolezal check?
Dolezal, the former NAACP chapter president who made headlines in June when her race came into question, faces that question Monday when she guests on the talk show “The Real.”
The show’s hosts (Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon) lead a discussion on racial identity with Dolezal, a white woman who for years passed herself off as black.

When first asked which race Dolezal would check on an application form, she hedges.
“The form in particular usually defines things,” she says. “And you know I’ve been a professor of African history, black studies …”
“Yeah,” presses Braxton, then asks again which box she would check.
“I check white AND black,” says Dolezal, “because we all have human origins in the continent of Africa.”
“The Real” is a one-hour talk show airing weekdays on Fox Television Stations and in national syndication as well as cable network BET.
