PENTICTON – Fans of Junior hockey in Penticton can look forward to 2017 when the city hosts the Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup.
It runs from April 29th to May 7th.
The tournament is a playoff between the 2017 champions of the BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba junior hockey leagues.

As host city, the Penticton Vees get an automatic berth in the 13 game event.
Two of the five teams will qualify for the 2017 RBC Cup at the National Junior ‘A’ Championships in Cobourg, Ontario.

“This is an exciting time for our returning players, staff, ownership and the South Okanagan Events Centre. The entire city of Penticton along with our faithful fans will benefit from this marquee championship,” says Vees president, general manager and head coach Fred Harbinson in a news release.
The Vees are the defending WCC champions having won the tournament last year in Fort McMurray.
