CALGARY – Police are again appealing to the public for help locating a man wanted in connection to the death of a young mother in the community of Ranchlands.
Christa Cachene’s body was found inside a home in the 0-100 block of Ranchlands Bay N.W. on Sunday, Oct. 11.
Police believe a large party took place at the home on Saturday night, and that Cachene was beaten to death early Sunday morning after the party ended.
Homicide investigators announced last Friday that a Canada-wide warrant had been issued for 18-year-old Isaiah Riel Rider. He’s wanted for second-degree murder in relation to Cachene’s death, as well as unrelated warrants for assault and breaching a conditional sentence.
On Thursday, police again asked the public to aid them in locating Rider.
He’s described as approximately 6’2” tall, 155 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Police say he is believed to be in the Calgary area or somewhere in southern Alberta.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Calgary police or call Crime Stoppers.
