A pair of Greek men have become Internet sensations after their questionable attempt to carry an Ergotelis midfielder off the pitch didn’t go so well.
Leonardo Kourtis was injured in the second half of Saturday’s Greek second division match with his club trying to maintain a 1-nil lead over Larissa.
Two men were tasked with taking Kourtis off the pitch on a stretcher so a team doctor could continue assessing his injury.
Kourtis was clutching his side when one man pushed him onto the stretcher. He then came crashing back to Earth when that same man lost his footing trying to race off the pitch…twice.
Multiple clips of the blooper have since been uploaded to YouTube and watched well over a million times as of this writing.
Kourtis was later substituted for Manos Foukarakis before Larissa made a late comeback to win 2-1.
