SASKATOON – An ambulance was delayed by a train in Saskatoon over the weekend while responding to a call. A football player at Saturday’s Charity Bowl had sustained a possible neck injury.
It took MD Ambulance 23 minutes to get to Gordie Howe Bowl.

One of the issues facing paramedics is that they don’t get any warnings about trains rolling through the city.
“We are starting to see it happen more now because the trains are longer,” said MD Ambulance spokesperson Troy Davies, who is also a city councillor.
“You know from an EMS perspective, we hope that something can be done because this ended up as a call, we were stuck behind a train.”
“It can be life or death for sure.”
Earlier this year the city set up a committee with the railways to try and fix the problem, but so far there are no solutions.
