SAINT-MATHIAS-SUR-RICHELIEU – A 25-year-old man is in critical condition following a horrific crash early Sunday morning.
The young man was traveling northbound on Chemin des Patriotes heading towards the town of Otterburn Park, when the accident happened.

At around 1 a.m. the driver lost control of his car, hit a guardrail and a tree before crashing to a stop.
The car then burst into flames trapping the victim inside.
The young man was severely burned before three bystanders and police were able to pull him from the fiery wreckage.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
