TORONTO — Do the Blue Jays perform better when the roof is open or closed? Global News crunched the numbers and found a considerable difference in win rates.
For the 2015 regular season, the Jays have performed considerably better with the roof open, recording 38 wins and 14 losses, which is a win percentage of about 73 per cent.
The numbers are considerably worse with the roof closed, with the team only securing 11 wins and giving up 14 losses — a win percentage of just 44 per cent.
In games when the roof started closed and then opened, the Jays are undefeated at 4-0.

Unfortunately, according to the Blue Jays website, the roof will be closed for the first game of the American League Divisional Series against the Texas Rangers.
However, the roof also happened to be closed on Saturday Oct. 23, 1993, when the Jays last won the World Series.
