Mounties charge teen after email threat sent to Saskatchewan school

VIBANK, Sask. – RCMP have arrested a 15-year-old after a school in southern Saskatchewan received a threatening email.

Mounties say officials at the Vibank Regional School received the message last Wednesday indicating that an armed person was going to the school.

The school was locked down for several hours while officers investigated.

RCMP say they were able to determine that the threat was unfounded and originated in the village.

The teen, who cannot be named, faces a criminal charge of conveying false information with the intent to injure or alarm a person.

The youth is to appear in Indian Head provincial court on Nov. 17.
