RCMP are searching for two suspects in a violent sexual assault in Nanaimo that happened in May and are hoping the public can help.
Between 3:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.on May 6, a 37-year-old woman was approached by two men in a condo complex on 9th Street. They invited her to have some drinks with them and when she agreed, they walked to a grassy area between 9th and Nanaimo Parkway.
Police say that after a short time the men became aggressive with the woman and she was violently sexually assaulted.
The suspects then left and the woman was able to make her way to her house. She sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Later that day, she informed the Nanaimo RCMP and they have conducted a thorough forensic examination of the scene.
But now they are releasing sketches of the suspects in the hope that someone recognizes them.
One of the suspects is described as a white male, mid to late 30’s , with shoulder-length hair, between 5’5″to 5’7″ tall, who was wearing a black long sleeve shirt, and red shoes.
The second suspect is described as an Aboriginal male, taller than 5’7″, with a heavier build, a circular tattoo on the back of his calf, who was wearing shorts and a white t-shirt.
